Getxo: a sports project with soul, methodology, and a future

The Getxo project was created with a clear and firm objective: to provide a happy environment for all children who want to play football, helping them develop not only as athletes but also as people with strong values. Beyond competition, the project focuses on education, respect, teamwork, and holistic development. We believe that football is an educational tool with an enormous impact when it is structured around consistency, methodology, and professionalism.
A modest but professionalized structure
The project is made up of:
- 98 coaches
- 29 managers
- 7 strength and conditioning coaches
- 8 goalkeeper coaches
- 2 physiotherapists
Everything is organized within a solid, functional structure, divided into 3 development stages and 8 departments, led by 5 executives with proven experience at professional organizations.
This organizational model ensures that each area has clearly defined processes, clear objectives, and ongoing coordination, ensuring that athletic and personal development follow a common approach across all age groups.
More than 900 families: the heart of the project
Currently, more than 900 families are actively involved in this project. Their trust and commitment make Getxo much more than a club: it is an educational and sporting community. Supporting families, maintaining constant communication, and ensuring methodological consistency are fundamental pillars in creating a safe, stable, and educational environment.
KIMET: technology, methodology, and professionalization
A project of this scale needs tools that ensure quality and consistency. That is why the Getxo project is supported by Kimet Sport, a company specializing in developing methodological and technological solutions for sports. The collaboration with KIMET goes far beyond using a digital platform.
It involves:
- Implementing technology-driven planning tools.
- Using Planning and T-Manager to create, organize, and monitor training sessions.
- Creating original training tasks tailored to each development stage.
- Developing and consolidating a distinctive, structured methodology that can be applied to all types of teams.
- Ongoing support from a methodology expert who oversees processes, structures content, and ensures consistency in player development.
- Analyzing and monitoring weekly work to ensure genuine, measurable progress.
Thanks to this strategic partnership, the project combines the close-knit community and values of a modest organization with the professionalized processes of high-level organizations. KIMET provides more than tools; it brings structure, oversight, vision, and continuous improvement.
Facilities dedicated to learning
The project has facilities that allow activities to take place under optimal conditions:
- 4 football fields
- 1 natural-grass field
- Sufficient changing rooms at each field to accommodate both our teams and their opponents.
These facilities make it possible to organize training sessions and competitions comfortably, efficiently, and to a high organizational standard.
A project that proves it can be done
The Getxo project proves that size does not determine ambition. We want to show that even in a small town, with hardworking, well-trained, and professional people, it is possible to turn a modest club into a major project. A project with a clear structure, a defined methodology, strong values, and a clear vision for the future.
Because when there is commitment, organization, and a passion for doing things right, growth stops being an aspiration and becomes a reality.
